San Diego is know for a lot of things…

1.) Bird Rock Coffee Roasters-
They have a Q-Grader certified roaster in the shop. If that means something to you, congratulations. You understand coffee roasting better than most.
They win awards and lots of local beer brewers use their coffees to make the latest and greatest coffee/beer monstrosities. Check them out in La Jolla and Little Italy. You can also take a barista class there. Book learnin’ for coffee people.

2.) Holsem Coffee-
Check them out in North Park for their daily small batch brew like Yirgacheffe. They have fifteen cold brews on tap with nitro. This isn’t Folgers. Plan accordingly.

3.) The Swell Cafe-
Like your coffee with a view of the Pacific? Visit The Swell Cafe for their espresso. Enjoy it on their awesome patio. They really about the environment. They recycle everything and can even claim the status of “near zero emissions.” A good cup of coffee with some social responsibility.
You can get awesome coffee and help save the world. If you’re super hardcore, you can get their cold brew by the keg. You’re welcome.

4.) Zumbar Coffee and Tea-
Head to Solana Beach to try their perfect Cappuccino. They’re old school with their vintage cast iron coffee roaster. You can also get a great donut from V.G. Bakery, a Solana Beach fave.
Founded in 2003, Zumbar Coffee is a boutique coffee roasting company with a retail location. They take an artisan approach towards creating fine coffee.
Get the jitters and some nom noms.

5.) Pannikin Coffee and Tea-
Try a cup from Pannikin in Encinitas. They do a roast every day and get beans and blends from all over the world. Enjoy the history as you drink their coffee in the historic Santa Fe Railroad Station.
Pannikin is a family owned and operated business that roasts coffee daily to bring you the freshest selection of single origin coffees and proprietary blends from around the globe.
They also have a tea list that is quite notable, you won’t be disappointed in the wide range offered here.
