San Diego is one of America’s most patriotic cities, and when it comes to a proper 4th of July fireworks show, you won’t find one that tops ours.
Our wonderful city celebrates July 4th in style with fireworks displays all over the region.
But the big dog is the San Diego’s annual 4th of July Big Bay Boom. The North Bay, commonly called the Big Bay by the locals, will light up every year on July 4th for the annual fireworks spectacular.
Some of the world’s most skilled pyrotechnic experts will light up the night sky with the most advanced fireworks available fired from four barges at anchor in the bay.
People come from all over the country to take part in this firework spectacle. They line the rooftops and the roadways. For the best view of the Big Bay Boom, get a spot at Shelter Island, Harbor Island, North/South Embarcadero, Seaport Village, Coronado Landing, Point Loma homes, Liberty Station, Little Italy, Downtown buildings, boats on the big bay, and any of the city’s port parks.
But get there early, as the Big Bay Boom usually draws about a half million spectators. You won’t find a better fireworks show on the west coast!
