You may have noticed (unless you’ve been hiding under a rock), that there’s a revolution going on all over the United States right now concerning our food. Where we get it? Whats in it? Is it GMO or non-GMO? (you get the idea)
People are discovering how to eat for good health and the organic revolution has begun.
Living in San Diego just for the great food isn’t that crazy.
Especially if you want healthy, locally grown, organic options.
San Diego has more farmers markets than pretty much anywhere in the U.S.
So if that’s a priority for you, don’t forget to take a look at houses for sale Downtown. That’s where you’ll find Little Italy Mercato, perhaps the best farmers market in the city.
With over 150 vendors, Little Italy Mercato is downtown’s city market. Take a walk down West Cedar Street and peruse the artisan foods, organic produce, and specialty items.
The vegetables, fruit, herbs, and flowers are from California farmers only.
So are the poultry, meats, eggs, and cheese.
Take your pick of locally caught seafood.
Enjoy artisan breads, oils, and coffees, all from California. (It’s all there!)
Take in some live music while you eat a panini, a crepe, or an organic smoothie. There’s also woodcraft, jewelry, books, art, soaps, clothing, and handbags.
So if you dig the organic food scene, Little Italy Mercato is the place for you.
