Who helps you buy a house?

When it comes to buying real estate, there is an entire team of people helping to get the transaction closed.

The good news is that each one of the professionals will be responsible for handling a different part of the transaction.

Below are of some of the main characters involved in helping you close your real estate deals.

1) The Listing Agent

When someone wants to sell their house, they contact a listing agent to get it done. The Listing Agent will put the house on the market, advertise it, hold open houses, and get the house in the Multiple Listing Service, which is a database for agents in local associations.

2) The Buying Agent

If you’re looking for a home, a buyer’s agent will look for properties that meet your criteria and then help negotiate the purchase. They also provide invaluable advice as you consider properties.

3) The Mortgage Broker

This is who finds the loan that’s best suited to you. You can get get pre-approval for a loan before you even start your house hunt. In fact, many real estate agents prefer you to be pre-approved for a loan before getting into the home buying process with you so they know they aren’t wasting their time.

4) The Appraiser

The appraiser verifies the home you want is worth the money you’re going to pay for it before you get the loan. It’s also not a bad idea to hire your own appraiser to make sure you’re getting a good deal on the house you want.

5) The Title Officer

The title officer does a thorough investigation of the property before the transaction to make sure the people who claim it are legitimate and not con artists looking to rip you off. They also check for other irregularities like unpaid taxes, liens, and zoning issues.

6) The Escrow Officer

An escrow officer is a neutral third party who has the responsibility to transfer the title of a home from seller to buyer once both parties have done everything they said they would in the purchase agreement
